About the Event:
At the turn of the century, many early businesses in the Afro-American communities got their start by selling groceries. As early as 1911, A.J. Hill Department store advertised as being a Dealer in staple and fancy groceries.

Some 108 years later the Northeast community of Kansas City, Kansas is without a full service affordable grocery store. Our community is defined as a "Food Desert." We met our needs in the past, we need to address them now. You are invited to come, listen, learn, and ask questions, as well as provide input: "Let's Do it Again"
